Summary/Abstract: The text is devoted to an attempt to trace the presence and meaning of the feminine element in Marcel Duchamp’s oevre, especially in his Great Glass, in the context of the most recent translations of interpretations of this artist’s works’ written by the American art critic, Rosalind E. Krauss, and the French philosopher, J.-F. Lyotard. The translations were published in October 2019 in: Lyotard, Derrida, Hillis Miller i inni. Kalifornijska teoria krytyczna. Antologia tekstów, ed. E. Bobrowska, M. Murawska, M. Rud- kowska, Warszawa: Wydawnictwo IBL PAN. The context of the analyses by Piotr Juszkiewicz, Maria Poprzęcka, Jeffrey Weiss and Piotr Piotrowski was taken into account, too.
