Summary/Abstract: The article tries to establish some structural differences between artistic and scientific prose. It is based on a statistical investigation of vast experimental material. The author specially considers syntactic differences which form dynamic (though basically fixed) grammatical systems governed by laws of probability. Those systems are associated in the reader's intuition with the two types of texts - artistic or scientific.
