Summary/Abstract: The underestimation of Free Software Standards is a consequence not of their deficiencies, but of the significant marketing aspirations of IT companies on the field of non-free technologies to retain their influence over social and even political processes. Examples like Cambridge Analytica are just an illustration of the depth of penetration possible into modern life through non-free technologies. Free Technology Standards provide 4 „fundamental freedoms” – the only technology guarantees that technology operates in the officially announced way; that a comprehensive independent audit can be carried out; that adaptation can be made according to the own (sovereign) needs of the respective governments. In the light of these points of reference, the question of linking Free Technological Standards with curbing of the corruption acquires its well-founded timeliness.
