Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyse and discuss fiscal decentralization and its impact in economic growth. Empirical studies about the impact of fiscal decentralization in economic growth all the time have provided mix results. Why this happens, why some authors concluded that fiscal decentralization has a positive impact in economic growth, some authors concluded that fiscal decentralization has a negative impact in economic growth and some authors did not find a relation between fiscal decentralization and economic growth? This paper will review, analyse and compare findings of these studies and will highlight and explain differences on the dimensions studied from the authors about this phenomenon. Its main contribution is to offer a better understanding on the relationship between fiscal decentralization and economic growth.
