THE SPECIFICS OF THE ITALIAN SCHOOL IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN TRENDS IN COMPETITIVE BALLROOM DANCE

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to determine the specifics of the Italian school of ballroom dance in a historical retrospective and at the present stage. The methodology is argued at the level of a set of general scientific (problem chronological, concrete historical, descriptive, logical-analytical) and art criticism (axiological, genre-typological, biographical reconstruction method, style approach) methods of scientific cognition. Scientific novelty. An attempt has been made to scientifically study topical issues of the sport of ballroom dance in the integration conditions of the social art space of the 21st century; clarified and supplemented the concepts of "style" and "school" in the context of the specifics of competitive ballroom dancing; identified and analyzed the specific technical and aesthetic characteristics of the Italian school of dancing; outlined the prospects for the development of sports ballroom dance of the XXI century.
