Criticism and Verifications of the Theory of Ecomuseum

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. It aims to reveal contradictions between «new museology» («ecomuseology») and unpredictable consequences of implementation of this theory. Methodology. K.Popper‘s Criticism, situational analysis. Scientific novelty. «New museology » is obsolete. Also this theory isn‘t universal. Conclusions. Revealed following contradictions. It is very necessary for ecomuseum tied with ideal community, rooted in definite territory. Actually, there are little such communities and its amount decreases. In addition community, which required for ecomuseum, must have strong personal ties. But nowadays there are tendency to transformations to «abstract society». As a result, weak, casual and irregular links between people became more important and useful. Thereby, ecomuseums can influent for society with demodernization manner. Despite of contradictions, which considered above, ecomuseum still exist in museum landscape. It means, that theory of ecomuseum (new museology) is not completely false. Not universal, but some of it provisions are correspond with real life. Some fragments of idea Ecomuseums passed natural selection. So, further investigation would solve the problem, why concept ecomuseum can‘t replace concept museum. It is necessary for that to attempt refute theory of «new museology» («ecomuseology»).
