Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of the artistic image of Chio-Chio-san from the opera «Madame Butterfly» by G. Puccini. The methodology of the research is based on the consideration of philosophical, aesthetic and art historical aspects of musicological research, which involves the use of various methods – general scientific (analysis, synthesis, descriptiveness) and special. In particular, for the analysis of musical texts presented in the opera as primarily in a musical work, the musicological method is used.
