INTERACTION OF ART AND SPORTS AS A FACTOR OF DEVELOPMENT OF VIRTUAL MOVEMENTS IN THE UKRAINIAN FOLK-STAGE DANCE

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. The article examines the traditions of the interaction of art and sports as a factor in enriching the flexible arsenal of Ukrainian folk-stage dance. The methodology of the research is to apply historical-comparative and art-study methods. Scientific novelty of the work is to broaden ideas about the interaction of folk-stage dance and sports as one of the positive trends in the development of the cultural process in Ukraine. The newly created system of psycho-physical improvement of “Combat Hopak” was analyzed from art studies. It was found out that elements of the sports technique of “Combat Hopak,” reconstructed by analogy with the Eastern martial arts, are based on the virtuoso male movements of Ukrainian Cossack dances. “Combat Hopak,” which gained the status of a national sport, should be considered not only as a kind of martial arts but also as contemporary sports or potential folkstage dance.
