Summary/Abstract: Ja‘far al-Sadiq and Abu Hanifa, who lived at the end of the hijri first century and the middle of the hijri second century, are two peer scholars. It is reported in both Sunni and Shiite sources that Abu Hanifa, the imam of one of the Ahl al-Sunnah sects raised in Kufa, came together with Ja‘far, who grew up in Madina and was accepted as the sixth imam of Ithna-‘Ashariyya.
