Behlûl has dedicated his entire divan (collected poems) known as ed-Durru’l-Asfâ ve’z-Zebercedu’l-Musaffâ fî Medhi’l-Mustafâ to the eulogy of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Divan, which is famous in North Africa and particularly in Libya, is a cinquain written to Kâdî İyâz’s el-‘Iyâdiyye poem and consists of 29 poems each of which begin with the 29 letters of the Arabic alphabet and each cinquain ends with the same letters.
