Summary/Abstract: The article considers the text as the most relevant means of verbalization of the category of communicative intentions. It is noted that the target dominants of texts is determined by the addresser with the help of concrete, clearly structured or unstructured syntactic units, superphrasal or dialogical unities, taking into account presuppositional factors and speech competence. As a separate communication-intentional sign, a global communication and the highest syntactic unit, a text is realized in two genre registers –dialogic and monologue, which convey the author’s global pragmatic attitude.
