Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to trace Ukrainian identity representation in Soviet Ukrainian poster from the 1945–1989 in the context of the socialist realism’s stylistic evolution. The methodology is based on formal analysis and methods of comparison and generalization. The scientific novelty is defined by focusing on national identification as a subject of research of stylistic changes in Soviet Ukrainian poster. Conclusions. From the 1940s to 1980s, the visual language of socialist realism evolved and dissolved in a variety of individual manners, stylistic methods and external influences. Stylistic changes in the Ukrainian poster, in general, corresponded with the works of other republics. Despite certain efforts, Ukrainian authors did not produce a national version of this "creative method".
