NO EVERYONE CAN FORGIVE

Summary/Abstract: Ba­no­vić Stra­hi­nja is one of the most famous epic poems in Serbian literature, and one of the most frequent subjects of analysis and interpretation. Borislav Mihajlovic Mihiz wrote a play with the same theme and using the same plot in 1963. The author of the essay discusses whether forgiveness is possible and why a man forgives. The main character in the poem is a man of free will, a great hero who does something that is not common to everyone. The motives of sin, forgiveness and human freedom is being considered.
