Summary/Abstract: Szilárd Borbély´s book of verse Halotti pompa (Funeral Pomp) had the primary intention to commemorate the victims of a brutal murder in particular, and all the victims of violence in general. The volume consists of two parts. Book One uses the language of ancient christian prayers. It is with the help of the code system of faith that Book One demonstrates the insufficiency of the linguistic structures of this faith and its emptyness against the power of the evil. Book Two states the desertification of love and the collapse of the myths of science, philosophy and culture as opposed to the actuality and eternal brutality of violence. Gyöngyi Mikola´s essay A Rebellious Book of Prayer on Szilárd Borbély´s Halotti pompa draws a parallel between the author´s poetic concept and the deconstruction. The essay also attempts to elaborate on Borbély´s interpretation of the poetic and theological heritage of Angelus Silesius, who is often quoted in the mottos to the poems. Also, a comparison will be drawn between Borbély´s Silesius-interpretation and Derrida´s essay Sauf le nom (On the Name) on Silesius.
