Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is to analyze the nature, the main factors of the formation and stages of cross-cultural communication in international tourism. The methodology of the study, drawing on the methods of analysis and synthesis, is based on a complex combination of cultural, communicative, sociological, and axiological approaches to comprehension and consolidation into a single picture of the various connections that justify the integrity of the notion of crosscultural communication in international tourism. Scientific novelty is to identify and substantiate the main socio-cultural factors that determine and influence intercultural communication in international tourism. Conclusions. The modern scientific discourse of international tourism covers a wide range of concepts in various social dimensions - globalization, mobility, mass movement of people, the creation of new cultural communities, extra-territoriality, hospitality, freedom, and sub. In turn, they determine the nature of cross-cultural communication in it. So international tourism becomes a factor in the growth of channels and the development of intercultural communication, which, through social interaction at the individual and group levels, promotes positive globalization, shapes the relationship of trust and mutual understanding, coordinates the shared values of different cultural communities, and therefore is a tool for establishing a dialogue between cultures.
