Ex-Libris Executed using Computer Graphics in Contemporary Art

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the Article. The article aims to determine the main features in the creation of a book sign using computer graphics and its place in contemporary art. The methodology of the research consists of the use of the historical and cultural method, which is based on the consideration of the phenomenon of computer ex-libris in the context of the modern cultural process. Method of art criticism analysis is using, which makes it possible to understand the art form of a book sign. Scientific Novelty is the examination of the computer bookplate is given, the advantages and disadvantages of this phenomenon are determined on a par with traditional examples of fine art in the field of graphics. Conclusions. Ex-libris executed with the help of computer graphics confidently takes its place among modern graphic art. Therefore, it has the following advantages: accessibility for a wide range, simplicity in the process of creation, preparation for further printing and replicating a bookplate in any quantity. Gradually increases its utilitarian value for further use in public and private libraries. At the same time, it is worth highlighting the fact that a finished printed sample has less value in comparison with originals executed in traditional techniques of artistic printing. However, computer graphics are beginning to take the own place among the hand-drawn graphics in modern art space.
