Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study the process of the origin and development of Ukrainian ballet music on the example of the work of the outstanding Ukrainian composers of the XX century in ballet art. In particular, the works and styles of domestic composers such as M. Verikivsky, K. Dankevich, M. Skorulsky, A. Kos-Anatolsky, V. Homolaki and E. Stankovych were taken into consideration. The methodology of the research is based on the integrated application of the structural system approach, the biographical and art-study method, which allowed to reveal the characteristic features of ballet music in the works of Ukrainian composers of the twentieth century. The scientific novelty of the research is the systematic comprehension of the works of Ukrainian composers in the aspect of the formation of ballet music of the twentieth century. Conclusions. As a result of the research, it was found that the transformational cultural-artistic paradigms of the 20th century formed a new musical conglomerate of composers who created the latest artistic history of the ballet. Personal, individual, sensual, broad, emotionally complex and gracefully-composite - these are characteristic features of the works of domestic artists, who managed to combine classical and contemporary music in their music, to enrich ballet compositions with the energy of free plastic and aesthetics.
