Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article. The goal of the work is due to the need to summarise the performance and directing experience of D.M. Gnatyuk, which is related to his directorial practice. Applying to the problem of studying the creative biography of the artist, we detail the stage of its formation, in which directorial method takes one of the favorite positions, summarising the theoretical experience and practical achievements of D.M. Gnatyuk. The methodology involves the inclusion of the problem of analysis in the space of historical, art critic and cultural discourse with the obligatory consolidation of the issue in an interdisciplinary context. The scientific novelty of the research is that for the first time the directorial practice of D.Gnatyuk in the context of interdisciplinary discourse is covered; presented to the review numerous reviews of periodicals, conducted them for analysis and made corresponding generalizations and conclusions; The creative biography of the artist is highlighted through the prism of his executive searches, decisions and approbations. Conclusions. The material presented in the review gives an opportunity to comprehensively cover the problem of the production of S. Prokofiev's opera "War and Peace" in directorial interpretation by D. M. Gnatyuk. Summarizing numerous reviews and archival materials, we form a picture of an objective and rationally-balanced model of creative personality - D. M. Gnatyuk, fixed in the coordinates of his performing and directing practice, first of all.
