Summary/Abstract: I develop a conceptual framework based on a systematic and comprehensive literature review on the relationship between geolocation-based phone dating apps, digital intimacies, and social matching systems in the online sexual marketplace. Building my argument by drawing on data collected from Pew Research Center, I performed analyses and made estimates regarding % of U.S. adults who personally know someone who has been in a long-term relationship or married someone they met through an online dating site or app and among teens who have met a partner or hookup online, the site(s) on which they met (# of mentions). The data for this research were gathered via an online survey questionnaire and were analyzed through structural equation modeling on a sample of 4,200 respondents.
