From the Theater Museum - Until the Ukrainian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema Arts: Stormy 1960s

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Article. The purpose of this article is to reveal the activity of the Ukrainian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema Arts and determine its role in the processes of the revival of national priorities in the 1960s. The research methodology is based on the application of a comparative cultural-historical method, with the help of which the facts of the revival of the national tradition related to the activities of the museum are analyzed, and the working with archival materials method of source research defined. Scientific novelty. Understanding of the contribution of the Ukrainian MTMCA to the process of revival and preservation of the Ukrainian national tradition was significantly expanded on the basis of unpublished materials from the archive of the State Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema Arts of the USSR and the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Arts of Ukraine. Conclusions. In the 1960s, workers of the Theater Museum attained a high level of activity in its development: the structure of the museum was expanded by the departments of music, cinema, Ukrainian folk musical instruments; the Memorial Museum-Apartment of M. Zankovetska was opened, which contributed to the solution of the main problem - obtaining office and exposition premises. Obtaining conditions for the continued functioning allowed to present the achievements of representatives of the era of «Executed Renaissance» in a new way and lay the foundations for the spiritual revival of the 1990s, manifested, in particular, in the activation of the activity of the Ukrainian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema Arts in honoring the bright personalities of the period of the Ukrainian sixties.
