Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to identify current trends in Romanian parenting. The rapid pace of modern society and the limited time parents complain about have strong effects on parent-child relationships, offering multiple trajectories to the parenting profession. The harmonious development of a child’s personality remains one of the greatest challenges in the life of a parent. In this context, the main objectives of the present research include identifying parents’ perception on the methods of motivation for their children, the efficient ways of parent-child communication or the parenting courses that parents attend to. The research method used for this study was the questionnaire-based survey, which included items with a Likert response-scale, as well as items with open-ended questions. The subjects of this study were 164 young parents, coming from various areas of the country, with children aged between 3-14. After having processed and interpreted the results of the questionnaire, the conclusions showed strong changes in parents’ perception on their parenting activities.
