Summary/Abstract: The article gives an account of the 1st Convention of Łódź Voivodship Regional Associations, which was held in Uniejów in 2016. Regional associations started to be formed in Poland in the 1st half of XIX century. The article highlights the background of the organization of the Convention and provides information about the activity of regional societies in Łódź voivodship, including the time of their establishment, number of members, etc., on the basis of a survey conducted in 2016 on a sample of 33 respondents. It also stresses the importance of cooperation with local governments and exchange of experiences among regional activists.
