Summary/Abstract: The People’s District Council in Prusinowice was established following the administrative reform in 1954. It encompassed the villages of Prusinowice, Grzybów, Bor-ki Prusinowskie and a part of the former commune of Zadzim – Góry Prusinowskie. The resolutions of the Council were implemented by its Presiding Committee, which was a collegiate executive and managing body of the Council. Its competencies included approving and managing the annual budget, appointing and dismissing the village administrator, organizing the purchase of livestock, grain, potatoes and milk, tax collecting, organizing agricultural activities, road construction and education. The successive presidents were: Czesław Siekierski, Maria Kujawiak and Jan Łukasiewicz. In the period 1954–1961 the Prusinowice Council carried out a number of projects to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants – three fire-stations were provided, 3.5 km of dirt road and 5 km of gravel road were supplied, meadows drainage in Prusinowice was made and a bus connection was organized. The District in Prusinowice was liquidated on 31 December 1961.
