Summary/Abstract: After nearly 80 years it has been established that on 6 December 1939 two Polish aviators, Tadeusz Sawicki and Brunon Ślebioda, lost their lives when their plane was shot down in the forest near Góry Prusinowskie (municipality of Szadek), while doing a reconnaissance flight as part of a military action of 33 Squadron of the Army „Poznań”. Thanks to the efforts of Poddębice Forest Inspectorate and the Society of the Friends of Zduńska Wola, on 25 May 2018 was unveiled an obelisk at the site of the catastrophe to commemorate the death of the aviators.
