Summary/Abstract: The current instability in Afghanistan has a multi-dimensional historical process. The main factors in the formation of this process are as follows: USSR’s invasion of the country in 1979, the fact that the Taliban came to power in 1992, USA intervention to Afghanistan due to the September 11 terrorist attack and etc. Poverty, disease, threat and life safety problems in this process have caused people to migrate to another country or to be forced into displacement. This study has been focused on the immigration experience and the problems of the asylum seekers who belongs to the Afghanistan nationality and lives in Trabzon. In this study, which was designed in accordance with the qualitative research tradition, individual interviews were conducted with eight women and eight male asylum seekers living in Trabzon. Due to the language differences of the asylum seekers, interpreter support was utilized. The interview form consisting of semi-structured questions was applied to asylum seekers who were reached by snowball sampling technique. According to the research findings asylum seekers usually immigrate because of war and threats. In this process asylum seeker, first by legal and illegal means come to Pakistan and Iran, then to Turkey illegally. Asylum seekers, by illegal means, enter Turkey from Iran through Van and Ağrı provinces. Asylum seekers in Trabzon are given certificate of asylum seeker in approximately 5-6 months. It noted that together with the increasing number of asylum seekers in Trabzon this time is further extended. This situation causes problems for asylum seekers on many issues such as housing, health, education and employment.
