Gheorghe Mohan: “The Life and Work of Romanian Biologists”

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to acquaint the reader with Gheorghe Mohan’s study entitled Viața și opera biologilor români (The Life and Work of Romanian Biologists) published in 2018 by the Publishing House of the Archiepiscopate of Tomis. The volume reunites more than 350 Romanian biologists whose work was carried out mainly during the 20th–21st centuries. The entries refer to information such as personal data, studies, scientific and teaching activity, main publications, membership in prestigious national and international forums, recognition of their work in various sub-fields of biology. The volume is dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Great Union – a time when the Romanian Kingdom was united with the historical provinces of Transylvania, Bessarabia and Bukovina.
