Summary/Abstract: In the article, a research of the formation of positive attitudes towards people with different ethnic backgrounds and persons with disabilities in the social work students in the conditions of the model of pedagogical environment with an anti-discrimination component is presented. The sample and the research instruments used are consistent with the purpose and specificity of the research. The results of the statistical analysis of empirical data reveal the role and importance of the model of pedagogical environment to create conditions which stimulate students: to accept and value the cultural heritage of the communities and to respect the human dignity of their representatives; to know and study their own and of the people from different groups of cultural and other contexts; to create a sensitive and valued microclimate in curricular and extracurricular activities, to overcome their own stereotypes and prejudices and to enhance their cultural competences; to accept and value diversity and to work for its validation in the academic community and society. The presented aspects create an integrative basis for the formation in the social work students of positive attitudes towards people of different ethnic backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
