CONSUMERS’ PROTECTION IN INSURANCES DOMAIN

Summary/Abstract: At present, the insurances have an essential role in risks’ management and transfer to economic environment, granting protection both to physical and juridical persons. Insurances sector is actually included among those 6 economic sectors with special importance for national economy (along those related to electricity, goods railway transport, banking, food retail, telecommunication),considering that they ensure the production factors or services which are absolutely necessary for the entire national economy. Under these conditions, naturally, all the fundamental principles are applicable also in this sector of insurances and there are acknowledged to citizens all their rights as consumers from the point of view of the right of consumers, as they are applicable in all economic sectors open to commercial competition on the free market. In this study there are analysed the rights of the insured as consumers, as well as the way these rights are or should be complied with on insurances’ national market.
