Summary/Abstract: The central question of the study is whether there are any significant changes in the functioning of private educational institutions as a consequence of the centralizing measures after 2010, compared to the regulatory conditions at the Hungarian system change. The study explores the essential elements of the change in the regulation of the foundation and operation of schools, the trends of the proportion of private schools within the education system through the past 20 years, and the relevant funding and control system, with particular reference to indirect regulatory instruments, led to a reduction of private schools in vocational education.
