Summary/Abstract: An integral part of the school education system in Poland is an education offered for students with special educational needs (SEN). Class teachers play a key role in relation to the work to be done with pupils with special educational needs who have been included in mainstream schools. They are perceived as the main professionals responsible for the education of all pupils in the class. The article presents new regulations of educational law in Poland to support a pupil with SEN and corresponding teacher‘s tasks, issues related to the education of future teachers, and the results of the situation in Polish primary schools in 2018 regarding the situation of pupils with SEN in a mainstream school, a year after introduction of a school reform. It also gives an overview of the conclusions and recommendations for changes in preparing teachers to work with SEN students in Poland.
