La Nation socialiste – un hybride idéologique et ses enjeux politiques

Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the concept of “socialist nation” as it was defined by the RCP’s ideology. After analyzing the gap between theory and practice in the Ceauşescu regime’s national politics, the author concludes that the concept of a socialist Nation never went beyond the status of a utopian desideratum. The roots of the communist nationalism of the Ceauşescu era are to be found rather in the pre-war Romanian nationalist thinking than in the Marxist-Leninist ideology.
