The Union of Plastic Artists

Summary/Abstract: For the communist regime, the beginning of the year 1948 was the perfect moment for taking hold of the country. The first public exhibition of the plastic artists, intended to forecast the new orientation in the arts, was Flacăra Exposition, that took place at the Dalles Gallery, over April 11-25, 1948. The exhibition was organized under the patronage of Marcel Breslaşu, but other artists of indisputable leftist orientation were also part of the organization committee.
