Summary/Abstract: The study deals with the translation of the collections of poems by Vuk Karadžić, translated and edited by Václav Hanka in 1817 under the title Prostonárodní srbská Musa do Čech převedená. Hanka selected from the original collection 8 Serbian poems and added two Russian texts. Thetranslator combined various kinds of poetics and themes. He included a heroic poem, heroically comic poem, and lyric in the anacreontic style as well. He linked classicist with the romantic tendencies.
