Subject Dictionaries for Grade Schools

Summary/Abstract: Experience of composing Estonian-Russian-Estonian dictionaries for schools is described. The aim of the project was to create elucidative dictionaries of terms for 12 subjects in the upper grades of compulsory schools. The selection of terms, composing explanations, and different characteristics of the dictionaries are explained. Computers were used in the work for transforming concept-based manuscripts into term-based ones, for creating inflectional forms of the terms, and for marking terms used in the explanations.
