Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the development of private international law in the last hundred years since the establishment of Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno. They are outlined turning points that led to the significant development of this scientific discipline. The paper is divided into three parts, where authors describe the pedagogical and scientific meaning of private international and procedural law on the background of the general development of this discipline.
