Summary/Abstract: Patriotic poetry referring to history indicates the relationship between events from the past and the present, and at the same time interprets them. This role was fulfilled by the literary works of the poetic group formed within the Second Polish Corps during World War II and the first post-war years. The group took up topics based on the war experiences of the of poets, such as exile, wandering and soldiery life, inscribing them into the literary tradition and experiences of earlier generations fighting for independence.
