ROMANIANS SOUTH OF THE DANUBE. ESSAY

Summary/Abstract: The numbers of “our brothers across the Danube” is not known with accuracy. They do however believe that they are several millions, while the official statistics taken from their countries of inhabitance are quite restrictive, recording – in total – only several hundreds of thousands, which was also due to the interests of those states, as well as the de-nationalization process they are subjected to. It would be suitable for our Government to look closely into the matter of the Romanians surrounding Romania. During our time, within different international bodies and via different own associations, the Romanians south of the Danube are asking for their rights, militating – to the best possible extent – in favor of maintaining their identity.
