Summary/Abstract: In this article the concepts of Catholic philosophers who identify themselves as spiritualists are analysed. Representing the pro-Augustinian tendency within Catholic philosophy, they try to restore true philosophy as the metaphysics of the spirit, maintaining contact with the “spiritual reality” lost by positivism and materialism. The main representatives of spiritualism in France, L. Lavelle and R. Le Senne, adhere to and develop the legacy of French spiritualism of the 19th century (F. P. Maine de Biran). As a special case of spiritualism, the views of the very original thinker S. Weil, a disciple of R. Le Senne, are highlighted. The leading figure in Italian spiritualism is F. M. Sciacca, a follower of Italian spiritualism of the 19th century (A. Rosmini-Serbati, V. Gioberti). Also represented are the views of the Italian spiritualists A. Carlini and A. Guzzo.
