Summary/Abstract: The present article commences with a short presentation of the main points of debate in relation to the appraisal of John Calvin and his work. Following this article I have attempted to offer an answer to the question as to what kind of scriptural building-blocks has Calvin employed in the process of edifying his concept about the Christian church. I have deemed it important to lucubrate in this matter, especially that Calvin’s concept about the church has proved to be capable, even from its inception to convince and conquer, despite the hostile historical circumstances. It is a commonplace that the scriptural building-blocks of Calvin’s concept about the church is embedded in the answer-giving process of the Reformation. This answer-giving process was supposed to proffer a reply to the acute question as to on the basis of what church-concept should the Christian church perform its renewal in terms of its structure and organisation.
