Summary/Abstract: It is difficult to show any direct influence of Calvin upon the early liturgical history of the Hungarian Reformed Church. This is not a peculiar phenomenon, since, according to the history of liturgy, in every Reformed church throughout the world numerous factors played their part in the formation of liturgical practice, and a more strictly Calvinistic influence could emerge only seldom and much later. Many Reformed churches, including the Hungarian Reformed Church, were almost completely isolated from the influences of Calvin. The 1909 Calvin-jubilee, however, gave new impulses to the Hungarian Reformed believers. This study presents these impulses which strengthened since 1909.
