Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the review of priority directions of ecological and economic competitiveness of the regions in some developed countries, are revealed ecological types of economic activity, which are preferred by the regions of these countries. It is substantiated that, under the current conditions of ecological and economic development, existing reserves of resources in the regions are not decisive for the development of specific industries; development depends on the latest scientific and technological products in a particular field. The production of environmentally neutral and friendly products allows many regions to reduce their dependency on non-renewable resources without reducing the efficiency of their economic performance. Priority directions of efficiency of development of ecological and economic competitiveness of the regions of the USA and Germany are investigated, and it is determined that the cluster system of organization of ecological productions is based on the ecological and economic activity of most regions in the developed countries.
