Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the notion of religious sects on the confessional mental map on the Polish-Czech border, in the Cieszyn Silesia. It is a multi-denominational region inhabited by the followers of several religions. Nowadays, it is referred to as the area of coexistence of many religions, mainly, however, two Christian currents, the Roman Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession. The aim of the analysis of both contemporary and older materials is to determine what place the sectarian movements take in this system, and how this concept was and is defined depending on both the main confessions.
