Summary/Abstract: The contribution analyses conceptualization of human age and its periods in contemporary Czech and their reflection in selected types of public discourse, especially in printed media. It discusses the delimitation of childhood, young age, adulthood and old age in the given material and focuses on factors that influence communication about these periods of human life. The data under analysis are taken from selected printed journals and from the Czech National Corpus.
