Summary/Abstract: The text presents in a synthetic way the historical development of the Evangelical view on confessionally mixed marriages. The Catholic position is also taken into account in a comparative way. The problem was developed in four points: Different starting points (1), Theological and legal strategy of Evangelical Churches (2), pastoral strategy of Evangelical Churches (3), Evangelical-Catholic marriage in the light of the Official Pragmatics of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in the Republic of Poland (4). The main conclusion was that today the Evangelical Churches are more concerned that theological and legal solutions to problems related to mixed marriages do not destabilize the lives of the married couple and the family.
