Summary/Abstract: The attitude towards euthanasia causes deepened polemic in the modern society which provokes this examination. The topic is analyzed primarily from philosophical - legal point of view, putting the accent on the human life as a fundamental value that makes a mark for the civilization choice of society and its members. There are considered different arguments for and against institutionalization of euthanasia, while at the same time appropriate conclusions are made.
