Summary/Abstract: The thesis regarding the spontaneous revolution of December 1989 must be abandoned forever as far as Romania is concerned. Virgil Magureanu said: “The Kremlin had communicated to Paris the decision to remove Nicolae Ceausescu and to replace him with Ion Iliescu since the spring of 1989, when France was designated by NATO to provide feedback regarding the Romanian issue, fact which became known to the Romanian Security Authority, as stated in the Report of the Senate Commission on the actions in the events of December 1989.”
