The folk calendar of the mining settlement of Nyuchpas of the Koygorodsky district of Komi Republic (On materials of the beginning of the 21st century)

Summary/Abstract: In work the materials which are noted from the Russian population of the settlement of Nyuchpas (Koygorodsky district of Komi Republic) are analyzed. Nyuchpas was appeared on this territory due to opening of iron ore mining in the middle of the 18th century. The analysis demonstrated an existence of several important holidays of winter and summer calendar cycles in local tradition; showed mechanisms of preservation by the Russian migrants of maternal traditions of the Russian North and the central Russia in the conditions of close contacts with the non ethnic population; also showed the degree of conservation in tradition of some ritual actions, ceremonial attributes, ritual poetry of maternal culture.
