Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of inclusive education of pupils with disabilities in Armenia in the context of challenges associated with the implementation of the idea of inclusion. In discussing categories of special educational and developmental needs that pupils with disabilities have, the author analyses the position of the pupil with disabilities in the educational system, and the possible forms of achieving their education. The article’s analyses of the determinants of inclusive education indicate a broad context of the challenges associated with its implementation. Inclusive education has officially been practised in Armenia since 2005, and over these 13 years this area has remained full of challenges for the government, for schools, teachers, parents and for the pupils themselves. The article discusses the system of inclusive education in Armenia from a legal and pedagogical points of view, and also describes the achievements so far and the challenges in this area, presenting the inclusive education from the perspective of the educational system of Armenia.
