SOCIOLOGY IN SERBIA TODAY/TOMORROW – REFLECTIONS OF FUTURE SOCIOLOGISTS

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we present results of the research on the attitudes of the fourth year students of sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad towards today's role of sociology in society. We point out to their conceptions on possibilities for employment, then to their views on the profession of sociologist in Serbia, their engagement on the promotion of sociology. Through students' attitudes examined by Lickert's scale, we have investigated also the relation of their families and social environment towards the profession of sociologist and their understanding of the role of sociologist in society.
