Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author delineates the historical development and contemporaty destiny of Balkan Vlachs/Aromanians/Tzintzars, who have played a significant role in political, economical and cultural life in almost all Balkan countries. A special attention is paid to current controversies about Vlach identity and status in Balkan countries, including Serbia.
